Hello! My name is Julie O'Yang, I'm a novelist and visual artist. Born and brought up in China, I left for Europe in 1990s to see the world beyond the Great Wall. For the first time in my life I breathed the scented air of freedom, I was intoxicated. I stayed in the West and taught myself to become an European, which is a happy choice. Presently I'm based in The Netherlands where I pursue my calling: to create beauty and make our world a better place. I feel blessed every single day.
This web based project consists of two parts.
Shameless words is my solo. Under the tab Garden of Words, I give you, dear Reader, short fiction and poetry of my hand. The writings are never published before. You are the first to read them! And I am bringing them to you in a distinctive, strictly personal way with my personal vision. Each section of text is “married” to my visuals. These are paintings and other works I have made over the years. Why is this necessary? By means of this concept of my own making, I hope to breathe new life into the dying Art of short fiction. I am saving literature by giving it new oxygen! If you like what I do, I kindly ask you to donate any sum you find suit to support me and my project. This is essential and important to me. I promise to entertain you just the way you like! Please use the Donate button you find above. When your cash gift is above US$ 20,00, I will return your favour with something special. In Gallery of scented air you can choose a small artwork on paper, or I can make a present for you or your best friend's wedding. I use hand-made, hand-cut paper sizes to revive an ancient tradition of erotic art from China. You can read more on the subject here. And of course, you can also purchase large size paintings and artwork through my online exhibition ¡NOISE. Use the contact form for your queries. Annoucement: Due to a change of time schedule, I'm concentrating on the Kindle of my novel BUTTERFLY which will be available by Christmas 2011. The solo part of my project for short fiction will be hooked up for the time being.Follow "Gimme butterfly kisses" for news and events on the title. >>>All contents on this webspace, unless otherwise specified, including writings & images & project titles belong to the original works of authorship by Julie O'Yang>>>>>>>>>> | Dirty mind | Delta of Fertility, also known as Plan D, is the second part of this web based project. During her visit to China in the summer of 2011, Julie met with two artist friends, Li Ji, who is a Chinese painter, and Lu Li (Adam Luk), who is an American Chinese photographer and art teacher. The three of them decided to set up a future plan which will link their creativity with the endangered natural habitats and wildlife in China. As artists they want to contribute to the protection of wonders of nature. In order to promote ecological consciousness among Chinese children, a creative programme will be provided through local schools to teach the young ones love and nature. Plan D is a fundraising idea. Living in the age of our globalised world, distances are evaporating between people and their cultures and backgrounds. Like the Silk Road that used to link East and West, Dirty mind | Delta of fertility is a series of events to embrace the new, global identity of creative individuals from all over the world, and in so doing to build a constructive community through art, literature and music as well as foster innovative ideas. It’s our answer to our challenging time of change, our Second Silk Road. Dirty, shameless, fertile mind is an attitude. Support our mission, make donation today. YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE! |
